ASRCC Flying Site
The flying site is located in Kailua on the Windward side of Oahu, off Kapaa Quarry Road.
From Central or Leeward Oahu take the H3 to the Kailua exit onto Mokapu Saddle Road. Turn right at the first traffic light onto Kapaa Quarry road.
From Honolulu, take the Pali Highway (Hwy 61) past Kamehameha Highway and then turn left onto Kapaa Quarry Road at the traffic light.
The Kawainui R/C Airfield is located near an intersection. Coming from the Pali Highway, the field will be on your right. Coming from the H3 / Mokapu Saddle Road, the field will be on your left. The maps below contain a red "X" indicating the site location.
The field is open throught the week from sunrise to sunset, but the best time to see some action is on the weekend during a club event. Sunday from sunrise to 1:00 PM is reserved for gliders only.
The only bathroom facility is a port-a-potty maintained by the City Parks Dept. The nearest food is available in Kailua. For safety reasons, DO NOT GO BEYOND THE "SPECTATOR AREA". These aircraft can cause severe injuries.
